Rumor: Sony Ericsson P5i

Rumor spreads hard that the next descendant of P series is this yet-not-to-be-confirmed, Sony Ericsson P5i. The rumored specifications are 2.8 inch VGA display, 5 megapixels CyberShot camera, Wi-Fi, GPS, 160 MB of on-board memory, M2 and microSD slots (like in K850). All operating on a 360MHz CPU and Symbian OS 9.1.

The phone is predicted to be announced officially in Mobile World Congress next February.

By using brand new N81 (and its 8 GB variant), prepared to feel the N-gage experience. The release is scheduled this December 20. More Nokia line ups to be included to the list.

iPhone in Japan next year?

Reported that Apple has made early negotiation with either DoCoMo and SoftBank for the possibility on launching iPhone in Japan next year. Japanese is well known as fanatic Apple users. Even there, Mac users are counted more than Windows users!

The negotiation is predicted to be difficult since Apple requested on demanding too much a cut of the subscriber revenue. Which one of those two which will be successfully bring iPhone to Japan? If Japan and China are conquered, it is just about the time for iPhone to reach out all over Asia.

LG launched 2 new music phones

Korean manufacturer, LG, sets its priority by launching 2 new music phones. To reach mass market, especially youth, LG unveil this affordable phones. The first one is Rhapsody LB3300.  Created in cooperation with audio specialist, Mark Levinson, this sliding phone has music touch wheel, 1 GB of built in memory, and pre-recorded 7 tracks of album ”Rhapsody, the sound of soul” from Korean top artists. It will be available in Korea market.

The second one is SGH-250. It has glossy expensive metal looks. Yet, it is actually affordable with only 190 euro. This GSM phone will yet be available in Russia only.

Nokia’s environmental friendly handset

Nokia unveiled Nokia 3110 Evolve, which is made with bio-covers from more than 50% renewable material. The device is presented in a small package made of 60% recycled content and it comes with Nokia’s most energy efficient charger yet, using 94% less energy than the Energy Star requirements.

As part of eco-green campaign, Nokia’s Soren Peterson said, “Nokia was the first manufacturer to put alerts into its devices to encourage people to unplug their chargers.”

Google page with iPhone

Sometimes page cannot be viewed properly in phone-based browser since the site is designed to be viewed correctly in big screen. Luckily, now iPhone has set new standard on viewing site in phone. Even Google has to obey. Google managed to create better user interface, special for iPhone’s Safari browser. Any other site maker to follow?

After pitch black variant, selected Asian countries will enjoy Sony Ericsson W880 in fresh gold color. This variant of Sony Ericsson’s slimmest will be available as before the launch of its successor, W890. It is 9.5 mm thin, even thinner than plastic CD box.

Apple to share its iPhone SDK

Yet another avalanche effect of Google’s Android. Now it affected Apple’s iPhone. After several attempt on defending its system, now Apple finally open its iPhone Software Development Kit (SDK) for several selected developers. They will create third party application to enhance the iPhone applications. The SDK itself has some limitation compared to MacOS X programing application.

Sony Ericsson W880 with pitch black variant

After silver and flame black version, Sony Ericsson W880 is launched again with pitch black variant where the body is fully colored with black. Although is going to be replaced with W890, this phone is still attracting consumer due to its slimness, possibly the slimmest phone until now. The new variant will also get nice black leather slip case.

Nokia launch N82 and N8800 Arte

This week Nokia launched its new Nseries, N82, and next generation luxury phone N8800 Arte series. N82 equipped with GPS, 5 megapixels camera, and TV-out port. Two GBs memory is included in the package. The phone is in the market right now.

The other product is N8800 Arte. They are launched in two variants. Arte is dressed in black, while Sapphire Arte will come in brown. The feature includes 3G connectivity and 3 megapixels camera. Both will be available next year with premium price.
